Thokozani Saladi is a 38 years old woman, married with five kids. Prior to joining CUMO, she was an agro dealer, she would buy farm produce and sells them at the Chimbiya trading center in Dedza district during market days.
After realizing that her business was not growing she decided to join the CUMO Village savings and loan group Nkuyu 11 group. After staying in the group for more than years she graduated and became an SME client in 2018 so that she can be getting loans as an individual client.
Thokozani used to face challenges taking care of her family since her income from her business wasn’t enough to take care of her family. From the proceeds, she realized from her business, she managed to expand her business and she opened a second business which is a grocery shop. She now owns a big shop that serves people within her village.
Since joining CUMO her life has really improved, she has managed to buy land and built houses which she is renting out to people. She has also bought a car which is being used for business hence helping to boost their business. Thokozani is thankful to CUMO for the support it gives its clients, apart from loans she has also been trained business management through CUMO training programmes.
